Do you believe in reverse psychology? Like when you say that you are having a birthday party, and you hear people say that it is going to be boring? Well, do you say that there is going to be a surprise there, "but if you don't want to come....". Well, Obviously that works, and they want to come.
Bad example, sorry.
Here's another one: say you list a bunch of negative things in your email that you don't like about your life. If reverse psychology is to be believed, then people will start thinking about the good things in their lives because they don't want a boring life like you have. So they fulfill their dream of becoming a famous sky diver.
Although, there will be someone who will start thinking negatively and write a negative list about their life as well. Oh, well. What can you do?
You could write about the positive things in your life, but then people will think that you have a wonderful life and they don't. Or you could write a wish list.
My wish list would be just one thing:
1. To be able to fly without wings.
My ultimate dream. To be able to fly.
That's all of the time that I have, so see ya later!

What about if your mom said, "You really don't want to clean your room. That would be such a bad waste of your time and energy. There are no benefits to be gained"? I bet you'd rush right in and do it, and not realize until later that you were responding to reverse psychology.
Or, maybe not. I think not. Cleaning your room is such a boring thing to do and is so unpleasant when everything is tidy. You wouldn't be fooled like that.
Well, it never really happens ALL of the time, but a lot of the time it does.
